From The Course
The reasonably good weather has allowed Chris and his team to get on with clearing up the storm damage and get back to the works on paths and steps. With a bit of luck this decent weather will continue and real progress will be made before the start of the season. The woods at the 9th and 1/17/18th have taken a real battering and Pitlochry Estates foresters are on site to tidy these areas up – some parts of the course will look very different when all the work is finished. (Although these woodlands are on the course they remain out-with our lease and are the responsibility of the Estate) Thankfully the newly planted trees have withstood the high winds – albeit some of them have required a bit of straightening!
The dry and frosty weather really helped to dry the course out and we should see a recovery in the condition of the areas of the course that are subject to heavy traffic. To give these areas a chance to rest we have decided to maintain the trolley restrictions until the 1st of March. May we thank you for your understanding and please be assured that this decision is taken in the best long term interests of the course.
