Pitlochry Golf Course

Members

Both the "Pitlochry Golf Club" and the "Pitlochry Ladies Golf Club" can each boast of having over 100 years of history, with play having been held on both the old nine-hole course, which now lies under Faskally Loch at the southwest corner of the town and also on the golf course as it now presently sits.

At this present time, there are around 250 playing members in the gents section, with up to 80 competitors on any given medal day and 60 playing members in the ladies section with on average 24 ladies competing on their specified days of play.

Competition days are well attended and well received by all members of both clubs as the medal rounds are wide ranging and cover all aspects of the game from Medal, Stableford, Bogey and team formats to name but a few.

Both Golf Clubs also run various scratch and handicap matchplay tournaments throughout the busy season, some are straight entry by contacting the relevant secretaries and others have a qualifying strokeplay medal where the fortunate few make it through into the knockout stages.

For the hardy golfer, there is also a winter league organised for gents and ladies from November to March, played on a shortened, winter course lay out.

As members of their respective County Golf Unions, both the Pitlochry Golf Club and the Pitlochry Ladies Golf Club also participate in annual inter club matches in such competitions as the Scratch League, Coronation Trophy, Stroyan Trophy, Bell Trophy, Cowan Cup, Daily Mail Foursomes and the Mail on Sunday national team competition.

There are also many chances to renew local rivalries in "friendly" matches between other local golf club sections throughout a hectic summer period.

The Pitlochry Golf Club currently has its own website at www.thepitlochrygolfclub.com and you can click on the link to find out more about this club and it's many activities.
